# Historical workflow report: `intact` 0.8.0

This page is a historical record of the 0.8.0 workflow milestone, completed in July 2026.
It is not a statement of the package's current version, feature set, test count, or release status; consult the root README and changelog for current information.

The work began with a two-week audit of agent-session logs in which exact-match edit failures were a recurring source of rework.
The resulting benchmark replayed that fixed population: **68/111 healed with 0 recorded false heals** on the private corpus, and **43/59** on the curated public subset.
Those figures are frozen historical results, not a general reliability guarantee.

The 0.8.0 design established the core ladder: progressively broader normalization rungs, structured ambiguity refusal, and approximate matching only after exact projected-text matches.
It also established the surrounding safety posture: dry-run checks, healing, staged multi-file writes, patch ingestion, undo, anchors, delta reads, and LSP-backed operations where semantic information is required.

The milestone's recorded assurance was **650+ passing tests**, **4 skipped opt-in live-harness canaries**, deterministic ladder-invariant tests, replay fixtures, self-hosting exercises, and no reported type-checker diagnostics at the time.
These are frozen milestone counts and methods, not current test status.
